Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist. She has worked as a journalist for more than 45 years. She has reported on human suffering in war zones and natural disasters. Curry has reported from the conflict zones of Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo and the Central African Republic. Ann Curry (born on November 19, 1956 in the city of Agana) is an American anchor, television reporter as well as a journalist. She was most famous for her work as a reporter on the Today Show, a morning news show broadcast by National Broadcasting Co. Curry's reporting was distinguished for its coverage of humanitarian emergencies that took place in war-torn nations and natural catastrophes. Curry's father was a sailor in the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. She met her mother while stationed with her father in Japan during World War II. Because of her father's military service, the family was often moved. Curry was a student at the secondary school in Ashland Oregon. In 1978 she graduated from The University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. She became the only female reporter in KTVL's history when she turned 22. After that, she moved into the role of anchor and reporter for KGW, an NBC affiliate station in Portland. Her return in Los Angeles four years later in the role of a reporter at KCBS TV. Through her tenure of six years with the station, she earned the award of two Emmy Awards.
